1336 is the number of days that the tug of war between the employees of the Fralib factory and the Anglo-Dutch multinational Unilever, the world’s leading producer of ice cream and tea, lasted. Just a few kilometers from Marseille, workers fought to keep their jobs and save their Gémenos factory, slated for closure. After making their voices heard all summer, then the next, and still the next, and after 1336 days of exemplary mobilization, the former Fralib employees finally won by taking over the factory as SCOP TI (Société Coopérative Ouvrière Provençale de Thés et d'Infusions) and launching the 1336 brand of teas and infusions.
