The Sidamo region lies in southern Ethiopia, on the border with Kenya. It takes its name from an ethnic group: the Sidama, people living in south-west Ethiopia. The south of the country is a privileged and exclusive area for coffee growing.
The coffee grows under the shade of forest trees and is selectively hand-picked. It is then processed by the wet method, which gives it a beautiful acidity.
Moka Sidamo accounts for 11% of production. The washed quality is highly sought-after.
