Green mate is still present in its native state in certain areas of the state of Paraná, in southern Brazil. It grows naturally in secret in the shade of the forest and is only harvested thereevery 2 years by local producers.This allows it to have a higher phytonutrient content than cultivated mate.
It is produced by one of the associations that exploit wild mate on their own properties, bringing together about sixty families. This way of life is protected by the families and they fight for thepreservation of the local ecosystem.
Ingredients:Ilex paraguariensis*, wild mate leaves, steam-stabilized, then dried, cut and stored until maturation. *Product from organic farming and fair trade.
