Mint tea can be enjoyed in any season, served hot with or without sugar and iced in summer to enjoy the freshness of mint. This recipe is inspired by the Moroccan tradition where mint tea is offered as a sign of welcome. The Dammann Frères recipe is created from an organic Gunpowder green tea from China. The tea leaves are rolled then scented with a natural mint flavor.
The green tea prepared as Gunpowder infuses in water at 80°, a higher temperature will reveal the astringency of the green tea and dominate the minty aromas. The infusion is short, only 3 minutes, allowing you to enjoy your tea more quickly. For a traditional preparation, you can add sugar, however, you can enjoy it without sugar to enjoy the vegetal notes of the green tea. For iced version, it is recommended to make the infusion hot then let it cool to avoid developing too much astringency.
