SMEG's retro design for a modern espresso machine.
The SMEG EGF03BLEU espresso machine contains a concentration of technologies, but also features aretro designdistinctive, born from the collaboration with the deepdesign® studio of Matteo Bazzicalupo and Raffaella Mangiarotti.
It is a robust coffee machine, with a beautifuldie-cast aluminum body and stainless steel finishes.
The integrated grinder is equipped withconical stainless steel burrs, for a homogeneous grind that preserves all the coffee's aromas.
The dual Thermoblock heating system (one dedicated to the coffee circuit and the other to the steam circuit), ensuresfast heating time and on-demand steam production.
Thanks to the58 mm diameter portafilter and steam wand, both made of stainless steel, you will be able to extract a good espresso and prepare milk drinks like a real barista.
In addition, the front pressure gauge will allow you to keep an eye on your extraction pressure.
The SMEG EGF03BLEU espresso machine is equipped with various accessories and offersseveral settings to evolve in the world of espresso.
Use and settings of the SMEG EGF03BLEU espresso machine
The SMEG EGF03BLEU comes withpressurized filters (to be able to extract a good coffee, even if your grind is not perfect) andsingle filters (to learn how to make an espresso the right way by experimenting with different grind sizes, coffee dose, and pressure).
This manual espresso machine gives you the ability tocustomize your drinks according to your tastes.
- You can directly choose between two pre-set grind options to prepare a single or double espresso.
- The grind fineness adjustment is simple, by turning the hopper to reach the desired setting: from 0 (super fine) to 15 (medium grind).
- The hopper can hold up to 250 g of coffee beans. It removes easily for simplified maintenance.
- In the settings, you can select yourpre-infusion preference with 4 different profiles (short, standard, long, progressive pre-infusion) and choose 4 temperature levels.
Thestainless steel steam wand has a rubber guard to prevent burns.
To dispense steam and create milk foam, you can choose between 2 steam intensity levels, depending on the milk-based drink you want to make.
You can also get hot water by using the steam wand.
The water tank of the SMEG EGF03BLEU coffee machine is generous, with a 2.4 L capacity.
After 10 minutes of inactivity, the machine switches to energy-saving mode. The standby time can be adjusted.
Various visual alerts will notify you if needed (low water, descaling, etc.)
The SMEG EGF03BLEU is equipped with a passive stainless-steel cup warmer and a small hidden drawer behind the drip tray to store your accessories.
Accessories and maintenance.
The SMEG EGF03BLEU espresso machine comes with numerous accessories: a two-spout stainless-steel portafilter, a single-cup pressurized filter, a two-cup pressurized filter, a single-cup non-pressurized filter, a two-cup non-pressurized filter, a 58 mm stainless-steel tamper, a cleaning brush, a silicone disc for group maintenance, a stainless-steel milk jug.
The filter cartridge is not included. To filter your water, you will need this SMEG cartridge.
The silicone disc will allow you to perform a backflush (deep cleaning).
SMEG recommends using cleaning tablets designed for domestic coffee machines and a specialized descaling agent for descaling.
