SMEG's retro design for a modern espresso machine.
The SMEG EGF03RDEU espresso machine contains a concentration of technologies, but also features a retro design distinctive, born from the collaboration with the deepdesign® studio of Matteo Bazzicalupo and Raffaella Mangiarotti.
It is a robust coffee machine, with a beautiful cast aluminum body and stainless steel finishes.
The integrated grinder is equipped with conical burrs in stainless steel, for a homogeneous grind that preserves all the coffee aromas.
The dual Thermoblock heating system (one dedicated to the coffee circuit and the other to the steam circuit), guarantees a fast heating time and on-demand steam production.
Thanks to the 58 mm diameter portafilter and the steam wand, both in stainless steel, you will be able to extract a good espresso and prepare milk drinks like a true barista.
In addition, the front pressure gauge will allow you to keep an eye on your extraction pressure.
The SMEG EGF03RDEU espresso machine is equipped with various accessories and offers multiple settings to evolve in the world of espresso.
Use and settings of the SMEG EGF03CREU espresso machine
The SMEG EGF03RDEU comes with pressurized filters (to be able to extract a good coffee, even if your grind is not perfect) and single filters (to learn how to make an espresso according to the rules of the art by experimenting with different grind levels, coffee dose and pressure).
This manual espresso machine gives you the possibility to customize your drinks according to your tastes.
- You can directly choose between two pre-set grinding options to prepare a single or double espresso.
- The grind fineness setting is simple, by turning the hopper to reach the desired notch: from 0 (superfine) to 15 (medium grind).
- The hopper can hold up to 250 g of coffee beans. It removes easily for simplified maintenance.
- In the settings, you can select your pre-infusion preference with 4 different profiles (short, standard, long, progressive pre-infusion) and choose 4 temperature levels.
The stainless steel steam wandhas a rubber guard to prevent burns.
To dispense steam and create milk foam, you can choose between2 steam intensity levels, depending on the milk-based drink you want to make.
You can also gethot waterby using the steam wand.
The water tank of the SMEG EGF03 coffee machine is generous, with a capacity of 2.4 L.
After 10 minutes of inactivity, the machine switches to energy-saving mode. The standby time can be adjusted.
Various visual alarms will alert you if needed (low water, descaling, etc.)
The red SMEG EGF03 is equipped with a passive stainless-steel cup warmer and a smallhidden drawerbehind the drip tray, to store your accessories.
Accessories and maintenance.
The SMEG EGF03RDEU espresso machine comes withmany accessories: a two-spout stainless-steel portafilter, a single-cup pressurized filter, a two-cup pressurized filter, a single-cup non-pressurized filter, a two-cup non-pressurized filter, a 58 mm stainless-steel tamper, a cleaning brush, a silicone disc for group head maintenance, a stainless-steel milk jug.
The filter cartridge is not included. To filter your water, you will need this SMEG cartridge.
The silicone disc will allow you to perform a backflush (deep cleaning).
SMEG recommends using cleaning tablets designed for domestic coffee machines and a specialized descaling agent for descaling.
