1336 Scop Tiis a French tea brand whose identity is as strong as the flavour of its teas and infusions is delicious.
1336 is the number of days thetug-of-warbetween the employees of the Fralib factory and the Anglo-Dutch multinational Unilever, the world’s leading producer of ice cream and tea. A few kilometres from Marseille, workers fought to keep their jobs and save their Gémenos plant, which had been slated for closure. After raising their voices all one summer, then the next, and the next again, and after 1,336 days of exemplary mobilisation, the former Fralib employees finally prevailed by taking over the factory as a SCOP TI (Provençal Workers’ Cooperative Society for Teas and Infusions) and launching the 1336 brand of teas and infusions.
This symbolic brand offers plain or flavoured teas and infusions, 100% natural. All are made in Gémenos near Marseille, to the gentle song of the cicadas, by the workers of the cooperative—passionate heirs to this incredible story.
