The flat bottom of the teapot allows the leaves to spread evenly, promoting a deep extraction without wasting the tea's ingredients. The integrated tea strainerallows the leaves to spread freely, thus releasing all their flavors and aromas optimally.
Unlike conventional kyusus, where the tea leaves inside can shake and lead to uneven extraction, the Origami Kyusu teapot was designed to avoid this problem. By placing the tea strainer on the lid, excessive extraction is prevented, thus ensuring a mild flavorand balanced tea from the beginning to the end of the pour.
