To achieve this result, Coffee Pirates chose beans from Papua New Guinea. Coffee production in this part of the world is unique because of its specific harvesting and export method. Most of the crop is grown by smallholders working in “garden” plots. Supplying the coffee is complex, owing to logistical, cultural and linguistic challenges.
This coffee is a true rarity, acquired by Café Imports in Berlin and coming from Kindeng Dry Mill, located in Jikawa province in the heart of Western Highlands and Wahgi Valley. About 1,500 farmers from the Kindeng and Arufa districts picked these cherries from varieties such as Arusha, Bourbon and Typica, ripened at 1,520–1,770 m altitude.
You will love this coffee for its flavour-rich espresso. It stands out with its dominant red and yellow fruit notes. From the very first sip you will be seduced by aromas of red fruit, especially grape juice and black cherry. The finish reveals delicate apple nuances in the long aftertaste.
