Certified Fresh Coffee Clean Ocean (FCCO), this committed coffee combines indulgent, fruity flavors with a medium+ roast carried out in France, for a sensory experience that is both rich and responsible. Grown in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, the Brazil Alisios whole-bean coffee is cultivated in the Mogiana region, one of the country’s historic coffee-producing heartlands, by the Serra do Ciganos cooperative.
This area owes its name to the Companhia Mogiana de Estradas de Ferro, the railway company that in 1883 built the famous “coffee railway.” This network played a key role in developing coffee cultivation by easing transport to export ports.
Nestled between the Atlantic Rainforest and the Brazilian Cerrado, Mogiana enjoys rolling hills and great climatic diversity. The contrast between wet zones and dry plains creates a unique environment for coffee trees, and strong sunshine boosts photosynthesis in the leaves—true solar sensors of the plant—thus contributing to the slow, aromatic development of the beans.
This Mogiana arabica, single origin, is prized for its natural balance and aromatic depth. It is also FCCO-certified (Fresh Coffee Clean Ocean), a guarantee of quality and commitment to low-environmental-impact production that respects ecosystems and coffee supply chains.
This FCCO-labelled coffee is transported under sail aboard the cargo-schooner Anemos operated by TOWT. Powered only by the wind, it crosses the Atlantic without fossil fuel, offering an eco-friendly alternative to conventional maritime shipping.
This responsible delivery method cuts CO2 emissions by 75%, a strong commitment to low-environmental-impact coffee. Unlike noisy, polluting container ships, sailing limits noise pollution, protecting marine wildlife that is often disturbed.
