Moccamaster KBG Select: controlled extraction
The Moccamaster KBG Select drip coffee maker embodies excellence in home filter coffee. Its technological heart lies in a9-hole spray head , engineered to shower the grounds perfectly evenly. Unlike a standard single-point water outlet, this uniform diffusionextracts every coffee particle in balance, preventing excessive bitterness or flatness in the cup. The result is coffee with clean, precise, harmonious flavors, cup after cup.
The Select version also features a half-carafe mode, automatically adjusting water flow to the amount brewed. Whether making a single cup or a full carafe to share, extraction remains optimal. Thermal stability, key to great coffee, is ensured by a copper heating system that keeps water between 92 and 96 °C, the ideal range to reveal freshly ground coffee’s aromas. Once brewed, the hotplate maintains the beverage at 80 °C for 40 minutes, without altering it.
Design-wise, its polished stainless-finish aluminium body offers a silhouette both modern and timeless, fitting seamlessly into contemporary or artisanal kitchens. The integrated mixing lid ensures perfect flavor homogeneity, for consistent coffee from the first to the last pour.
KM5 grinder: fresh grinding, the key to exceptional filter coffee
Because great filter coffee always starts with fresh grinding, Moccamaster redesigned its coffee grinder to suit this world perfectly. The KM5, in polished aluminium, was engineered exclusively for gentle brew methods. Its 50 mm stainless-steel flat burrs guarantee precise, uniform grinding essential for consistent, flavorful extraction. Paired with a powerful direct-drive motor, they grind up to 60 grams of coffee in under 30 seconds, without overheating the beans.
Simple to use, the grinder adjusts easily via its dialand is suitable for all filtered coffee methods, from the electric coffee maker to the Chemex, including the V60, Aeropress or Cold Brew. The 60 g glass container comes with a lid specially designed to prevent splashing during grinding, as well as a standard lid to preserve the ground coffee if it is not used immediately. The antistatic distribution spout ensures clean and pleasant daily use.
