The drip pot: a traditional and ecological method
The Hario Drip Pot is a traditional coffee maker with reusable cotton flannel filter.
It will allow you to make up to 25 cl of coffee (about two cups or one mug).
The Drip Pot is a good example of what the Japanese brand can offer in terms of know-how and elegance.
The fabric filter is an ecological alternative to other gentle methods that use disposable paper filters.
The holder that holds the filter is made of stainless steel. It removes easily so you can wash the filter
This type of coffee maker is very traditional. It is still used in many countries, like Costa Rica.
This set also includes a heat-resistant glass carafe, with a natural wooden collar wrapped in a leather strap.
Note: the wood may be darker or lighter than the demonstration photos, as it is natural wood.
How to use the Hario Drip Pot?
We recommend using freshly ground coffee beans to enjoy all the aromas of your coffee. Use a medium grind with water at 85-86°C.”
1- Rinse the fabric filter with hot water and warm up the Drip Pot.
2 - Remove the water
3 - Add coarsely ground coffee and make a well
4 - Do a pre-infusion and wait 30 to 40 seconds
5 - Pour the water gently for one minute and wait another 20 seconds
6 - Pour water again to reach the ratio of 20 g of coffee for 250 g of water
7 - Enjoy
For proper temperature and better water distribution, consider getting a temperature-adjustable kettle with a swan-neck spout.
