A Brita pro kit including a total hardness test and a carbonate hardness test, to comprehensively evaluate the quality of your water (whether your water is slightly or very hard, slightly or very corrosive).
This test will allow you to know the carbonate hardness (amount of limescale) of your waterbefore preparing your coffee or teaor simply before drinking it.
Using the carbonate hardness test:
- Let the cold water run from the tap for 15 seconds
- Fill the test tube with water up to the 5 ml mark
- Turn the reagent bottle upside down and hold it in this position
- Pour one drop of this reagent into the water then mix
- Repeat this operation until a yellow color is obtained (shake well between each drop).
- Count all the drops necessary to obtain the yellow color including the first drop.
10 drops = 10° Kh.
The more drops you need to get a yellow color, the more regularly your water will need to be filtered.
Using the total hardness test:

The more drops you need to get a green color, the more regularly your water will need to be filtered.
We remind you that a water treatment solution is not universal as each geographical area has different water quality. The filtered water capacity can therefore vary from one region to another.
