Origin and producer of the Costa Rica Finca Alfaro whole-bean coffee
Discover the rich story of this exceptional coffee, originally from the Tarrazú region of Costa Rica.
This coffee is the fruit of the labour of 1300 families who, south of San José, grow the Caturra and Catuaí varieties between 1200 and 2000 m altitude. Thanks to a privileged location between the Pacific coast and the Talamanca mountain range, the cherries ripen under ideal conditions. The central valley, sheltered from humidity and bathed in sunshine, offers a perfect climate for coffee cultivation.
This coffee is produced by Beneficio Palmichal, a company founded by Manuel and Romelia Rojas, pioneers of coffee cultivation in Tarrazu, renowned for the exceptional quality of their harvests. Their expertise was passed on to Roberto Montero Castro, an iconic figure in coffee, who supported farmers by advising them on technical aspects. In 1994, the Neumann Kaffee Gruppe took over Don Roberto's farm and mill, now known as Beneficio Palmichal.
