Origin and production of Lugat ground coffee Costa Rica Finca Alfaro
Who would have thought that your Italian coffee maker would allow you to savor an exceptional coffee from the Lugat brand?
Let us tell you the story of this coffee, born from the work of more than 1000 families united within Beneficio Palmichal, located south of San José. In this region, the Caturra and Catuai varieties are grown between 1200 and 2000 meters altitude, benefiting from a privileged location between the Pacific coast and the Sierra de Talamanca, sheltered from humidity. The sun and climate complete these optimal conditions.
Originally founded by Manuel and Romelia Rojas, pioneers of coffee culture in Tarrazu, the Beneficio Palmichal estate was later taken over by Roberto Montero Castro, an emblematic figure of coffee. In 1994, the Neumann Kaffee Gruppe perpetuated the legacy by taking over Don Roberto's farm and mill, thus guaranteeing the legendary quality of these coffees.
