Smart water filter
The cartridges CLARIS Smart + filter contain a layer of natural active ingredients at the lower end that stabilizes the water in the tank and reduces limescale deposits at the bottom. The system works simply through upward flow displacement of the water. Its upper part filters exactly the required amount of water to obtain a perfect cup of coffee through ion exchange.
JURA uses modern RFID technology to enable the coffee machine and filter to communicate. Thanks to the Intelligent Water System (I.W.S.®), the machine automatically detects the presence of a filter. It then switches to filter mode and will indicate when the filter needs to be replaced when the filtration capacity is exhausted. The machine activates descaling mode if this is not done. After the corresponding usage period, it then requests descaling. And the filter must be removed to perform this operation. No more handling errors!

This CLARIS Pro Smart maxi filter cartridge was developed for the following automatic machines equipped with the Intelligent Water System (I.W.S.®): W, WE, X and Giga².
Filtration capacity
The filtration capacity of a cartridge varies depending on the water hardness, and its temperature. We recommend performing a water hardness test and recording it in your machine in order to best monitor the life cycle of your cartridge.>
- at 1-10° dH: up to 300 l
- at 11-12° dH: up to 240 l
- at 13-15° dH: up to 180 l
- at 16-20° dH: up to 120 l
- at 21-25° dH: up to 95 l
- at 26-30° dH: up to 80 l
