This Lugat whole-bean coffee is aimed at specialty-coffee lovers as well as newcomers! The Pampojila is one of those coffees that let you discover the world of coffee in the best possible way.
With its medium roast and its indulgent / red-fruit notes, it will doubtless soon be on your list of favourite coffees.
Start by enjoying the 250 g pack , ideal for getting into specialty coffee or simply discovering a new one. Always fresh, Lugat coffees give you lasting satisfaction thanks to a cup rich in aromas. Another advantage of this size is that you can test a coffee with minimal stock to begin with.
It is the farm Finca Santo Tomás Perdido located in Guatemala between 950 and 1 600 m above sea level, that produces the different varieties making up this coffee. Lugat obtains a high-quality, washed bean that, once medium roasted becomes a specialty coffee both indulgent and fruity, reminiscent of red fruits. This coffee offers a gentle attack on red-fruit notes, a round body with beautiful sweetness and a finish evoking caramelised apple.
About the production of this whole-bean coffee
The family farm Inca Santo Tomás Perdido, situated in the Sololá region near Lake Atitlán in Guatemala, has been producing specialty coffee, honey and renewable energy since 1996.
The soil, rich in organic matter from the volcanic hills around Lake Atitlán, combined with the micro-climate created by Pacific breezes and the coolness of the lake, fosters the cultivation of high-quality coffee. The farm also uses its natural resources to generate hydro-electric power from the Río Santa Teresa, producing up to two megawatts of electricity per hour, ensuring its own energy self-sufficiency and selling the surplus.
In 1996 Olga Alvarado was running a real-estate agency in Guatemala City when a client offered to sell the Santo Tomás Perdido farm. Unfamiliar with agriculture, she asked her son Carlos, an agronomist, to visit the property. Carlos fell in love with the farm and persuaded his family to buy it. The farm thus became a family property, first managed by Carlos Javier for 20 years. Today it is run by Javier Torrebiarte, representing the third generation of the family.
