The design of the Bodum Douro French press pays tribute to the vineyard terraces of the Douro valley in Portugal. This double-wall 18/10 shiny stainless steel French press is lightly ridged with a practical wood-look handle that's easy to grip. For maintenance, it's recommended to clean it with hot soapy water before first use and after each brew.
Preparing your coffee in the Bodum Douro
Making good coffee in a French press is easy. Add one teaspoon of ground coffee per coffee cup into the carafe; cover with 90 ml of hot, not boiling, water per coffee cup; stir lightly and let steep for 4 to 5 minutes. After steeping, press the plunger down slowly and evenly. All that's left is to serve!
What you should know before making coffee in a French press
Coffee in a French press must be brewed with a coarser grind than what you use in a domestic drip coffee maker. In this sense, pre-ground coffees you find in stores may leave unpleasant sediment at the bottom of your cup. So, to avoid any tasting risks, turn to our selection of ground coffee for French press.
