The DeLonghi Magnifica range of bean-to-cup coffee machines is reinventing itself with the Magnifica START. Its ABS silver body is enhanced by chromed steel touches. This DeLonghi Magnifica Start coffee machine was designed from the famous 22.140.B but with lower quality materials. Its compact size has the advantage of being compact, while offering large containers:
- Water tank: 1.8 L,accessible from the front of the machine
- Bean container: 250 gwith opaque lid to protect the beans
- Grounds container: 14 capsuleswith front access
Note:the bean container does not have a seal, combined with its lower quality materials, it is the noisiest of the DeLonghi Magnifica machines.
The features of the DeLonghi Magnifica Start
This coffee machine offers no less than 4 drinks, you will find theespresso, thecoffee, thefiltered coffee (a rather rare option at this price) and theAmerican(espresso lengthened with hot water).
Personalize your drinksby selecting the parameters of your choice: intensity on 3 levels, number of cups and programmable cup length. The temperature is also adjustable on 3 levels thanks to a combination of keys.
The DeLonghi espresso grinder machine is equipped with a13-position steel grinderto adjust the grind precisely. You can also access theground coffee optionvery easily, very practical for making a decaf from time to time. The FEB 2230.SB is equipped with asimple steam wandwith an ABS black coating.

DeLonghi espresso grinder: easy maintenance
Maintaining DeLonghi bean-to-cup coffee machines is very simple and important to protect the lifespan of your appliance as well as the quality of your cup.
- Filtration: the filter cartridge removes limescale particles and also purifies the taste of your water to avoid altering your extraction.
- Descaling: despite using a cartridge, you will need to descale when the machine alerts you, in order to remove limescale.
- Brew group cleaning: the brew group is removable, you can clean it under lukewarm water once a week.
- Steam wand cleaning: remember to clean the steam wand after use with a suitable milk cleaner.
- Tray cleaning: the drip trays (grounds container and waste water tray) can be placed in the dishwasher.

However, there are points that bother me: its lack of consistency, the quality of its materials and its rather loud noise. Although it offers the filter coffee option, the extraction reveals bitterness in the cup. I advise you touse the Americano option insteadwhich will give you a long coffee without bitterness.
