For example, you’ll get pure high-pressure extraction for espressos, and slow extraction for long coffees. The Neo coffee machine automatically recognizes the capsule or pod you insert and adjusts extraction accordingly. If you want to enjoy a milk-based drink, theAirFoam technologyallows the Neo coffee machine to create a micro-foam of milk.
Several drinks are available to enjoy with this coffee machine; note, however, that you can only use capsules compatible with the NEO. These capsules are home-compostable paper (at home or in your municipality’s compost).

Thanks to Smart Brew Connect technology, you can personalize your drink by adjusting the temperature and volume of your coffees. Also, the Dolce Gusto® Neo coffee maker automatically switches off after 1 minute of non-use (a notable plus for energy savings on a capsule machine).

This capsule machine has an interesting and very modern design, which may appeal to those who don't like classic capsule machines. It's not too wide, but quite deep. The water tank has a good capacity (1.3 L) which provides nice autonomy for a pod machine. However, its oval shape doesn't allow the filled tank to be placed flat.
The Neo pods are a very nice discovery. Besides the innovation the brand put into designing these fully compostable pods (in 6 months, they completely disintegrate), the beverages are varied and their preparation is very quick - note that there is no decaffeinated drink. Nevertheless, even if the Neo pods are very high quality in taste, freshly ground coffee beans (like on a bean-to-cup machine) offer a more aromatic extraction, and the very diverse variety of coffee beans allows satisfying all tastes.
The machine cleans itself after each use, ensuring you have circuits free of traces from previous drinks when you prepare a new one; the drawback being that the cleaning water ends up in the pod collection tray, which has a small capacity. Moreover, like all capsule machines, its cost per cup is higher than with other coffee maker models or even bean-to-cup machines. If these models are more expensive to purchase, they are more economical in the long run since they use less expensive consumables.
