Bean-to-cup espresso machine with a redesigned look
With its sleek design, you'll find a smooth front panel featuring a raised screen that evokes a smartphone, controlled by a fluid, playful dial. The machine has large-capacity containers, perfect for family use

The spout is height-adjustable to suit every type of drink. The bean hopper on top of the machine protects your coffee with its opaque lid fitted with a seal. The water tank pulls out from the top, behind a flap, and has a sturdy handle—handy if the machine isn't placed under an overhead cabinet.
The multiple settings of the Nivona 8103 machine
The 8103 grinder-espresso offers up to 9 customizable drinks on demand or by pre-recording each step via the menu. The machine is controlled with a dial that guides you through every step. The different drinks are perfect for family use with 3 coffee beverages, 4 milk-based beverages, hot water (settable across 3 ideal tea temperatures) and a favorite drink accessible directly from the front panel.
The Nivona 8103 espresso-grinder is equipped with a conical steel grinder adjustable across 5 positions, letting you match the grind to the coffee you've chosen. During preparation you can change the extraction temperature across 3 levels and cup volume from 20 to 240 ml, simply by turning the dial. You can alter each extraction step on the fly or save every step via the on-screen menu using the dial.
Extraction quality thanks to the Aroma Balance System
Nivona's Series 8 brings together a host of settings to extract your coffee just the way you like it. You know how demanding we are at BaristaDiscount; we tested this machine inside out and the Aroma Balance System won us over with the different flavor profiles it reveals. We pulled 5 shots with identical settings except for the Aroma Balance System; it's astounding how many different aromas can be revealed by changing just one parameter. How is this possible? The difference occurs during pre-infusion, which varies the pressure and the amount of water added at that stage.
This machine suits demanding coffee lovers who enjoy chasing the perfect extraction with possible variations thanks to this function.
How to maintain the Nivona 8103 machine
You know how important grinder-espresso maintenance is. The 8103 guides you through the upkeep steps. It tells you when the bean hopper is empty, preventing waste from incomplete extractions.
- The spout rinsing: it is automatic and takes place when the machine is turned on and off, the machine handles it all by itself.
- The extraction chamber: You can access it on the side of the machine; it is recommended to rinse it with water (not too hot) every week. This removes coffee oil residues.
- The filter cartridge: You can equip this machine with a filter cartridge—don’t hesitate, it purifies your water so you can enjoy only the aromas of your coffee. Plus, the cartridge protects against limescale, which is perfect.
- The descaling: In any case, descaling will be necessary; limescale damages the machine’s internal circuit, causes leaks and/or cooler drinks. How often depends on the number of beverages and your water hardness.
- The milk circuit: Big plus—it cleans itself! After making drinks, the machine offers maintenance by simply connecting the hose to the drip tray. It runs steam through to remove all residue inside the hose.

I loved the in-cup result of this Nivona 8103. Aroma Balance is a real asset; I was amazed by the results during my tests—lovely crema, intense aromas. Milk drinks are also a great success with its One Touch function and the ability to adjust milk and foam quantity for beverages.
