From the Sidamo region, it reveals, from the very first sip, a beautiful floral intensity, balanced by a refined acidity. The cup is generous, round and expressive, with delicate citrus notes and an pleasant sweetness on the palate.
Ethiopia and the richness of the Sidamo region
Located in the south of the country, near the Kenyan border, the Sidamo region takes its name from the Sidama people, a community settled in south-western Ethiopia. This area is renowned for offering ideal conditions for coffee cultivation, thanks in particular to its altitude, climate and biodiversity.
Coffee trees grow sheltered by forest trees in natural agroforestry, and the cherries are hand-picked with special care. The wet processing used for this coffee encourages the development of a bright, elegant acidity, highly prized by connoisseurs.
The Moka Sidamo accounts for about 11 % of Ethiopian production and its washed version is especially sought-after for its finesse and aromatic profile.
