Rivelia espresso grinder: compact and innovative coffee maker
DeLonghi presents its brand-new bean-to-cup coffee machine with amodern design and compact footprint and well thought-out. It is, so to speak, the smallest format ever designed by DeLonghi! The water tank is easily recessed and positioned on the side of the machine, so you could imagine tucking the milk carafe right in front to save even more space when it’s not in use. Everything seems to fit together brilliantly.
It offersgreat capacity on the container side making it ideal for family use:

- Bean hopper:2 x 250 g interchangeable, allowing you to keep one coffee and serve another!
The two supplied bean hoppers will havetwo differently coloured lids. With this model, they will begrey and black.
A major innovation thanks to the interchangeable bean hoppers
This coffee machine revolutionises the world of espresso grinders. It is the only DeLonghi bean-to-cup machine that lets youswitch bean varieties at will. How does it work?Very simply: the coffee maker is supplied with2 interchangeable bean hoppers. Each can hold up to 250 g (a whole bag of coffee). No need to wait until the hopper is empty to change beans! This solution isperfect for catering to several people’s tastes within the same household, or for meeting one person’s different cravings throughout the day.
This coffee maker’s exclusive technology, theBean Switch System, was awarded theGold Grand Prize for Innovation at the Paris Fair, which bodes very well. But that’s not the brand’s only surprise: DeLonghi offers a new technology handy for the 10 g of beans left when swapping hoppers. The idea: treat yourself to one last coffee… then choose either to purge the system or keep the remainder and mix it with the new beans you’ve just loaded.
The Rivelia’s quality extraction
The DeLonghi Rivelia is easy to understand: it tells you what it’s doing (“grinding beans in progress”, for example, withanimated pictograms).
It’s a quality machine on which the Italian brand has fitteda brand-new brew group.Smaller than on previous models, but no less effective. De’Longhi has made thoughtful changes: you can now make2 coffees at the same time, and get thesame intensity in both cups. You can also prepare cold drinks: coffee, espresso and americano.
Our experts tested this machine to give you an objective report. On the Rivelia, the much sought-after Doppio+ is not available; however, fans of strong coffees will appreciate“extra shot” what this coffee machine offers.
As for the pre-set espresso, approximately 9 grams of coffee is used, whereas a machine will normally use an average of 12.

As for drinks, you will be seduced by the milk carafe that is supplied with the machine. An effective OneTouch: you just have to place milk in the carafe and place a cup under the spout before launching a milky drink. You can choose the thickness of the milk foam: "cappuccino" (for a thicker foam) vs "latte macchiato" (which will give you a finer foam).
DeLonghi Rivelia grinder espresso settings
The Rivelia offers up to 8 coffee recipes, and on versions with milky drinks, this goes up to 16 drinks: enough to delight all consumers. Moreover, this grinder espresso is equipped with Coffee Routine system, a technology that offers recipe memorization based on the time of day you consume the drinks, in order to offer you a personalized experience.
DeLonghi's new jewel also features the Bean Adapt function set directly on its touch screen: the machine will then offer automatic grinder adjustment based on the coffee used. This makes it a perfect bean-to-cup machine for coffee lovers who want quality without getting lost in the settings: the Rivelia offers optimal settings for controlled extraction. BeanAdapt technology remains optional, so the most discerning coffee lovers can always disable it as they wish.
This machine offers 3 temperature levels, and you can save up to 4 user profiles to memorize your preferences in terms of drinks.

DeLonghi Rivelia maintenance
Maintaining your bean-to-cup coffee machine is just as important as choosing your coffee well. Indeed, over time, your coffee can taste stale if you don't clean your appliance. And for your coffee machine to stay in good condition and offer you the best possible experience, it is also important to take care of it.
We recommend these essential steps:
- CLEANING: the brewing unit is removable on this machine. Our advice is to run it under lukewarm water once a week. The various trays and containers can also be cleaned, even in the dishwasher.
- FILTRATION: the filter cartridge will filter limescale particlesand purify the taste of the water, and therefore of your brewed coffee, which will thus retain all its aromas.
- DESCALING: the DeLonghi machineRivelia will alert youwhen descaling is needed!One dose of descaling agent supplied with the machine.
- MILK SYSTEM: if you choose the latte version of the Rivelia, note that the supplied carafe will clean itselfautomatically. So you won’t have much to do on that front.

We were eager to test this little marvel and were not disappointed! The DeLonghi Rivelia coffee machine is a true innovation shaking up the espresso bean-to-cup market. At last, a solution to switch coffee on demand. It’s perfect if you want a medium-roast coffee for drip in the morning, then a stronger espresso in the afternoon with an Italian roast, for example. It’s also ideal if household members have different tastes: each gets their own hopper, each their own coffee.
