The SMEG ECWF02 filter cartridge is your coffee machine’s best ally. It effectively combats limescale in the water, thus preserving your appliance’s internal components. By specifically targeting mineral deposits, it prevents clogging of the pipes and the heating system, ensuring optimal operation and significantly extending your machine’s lifespan.
By filtering out impurities, the cartridge also improves the taste of your water. Result: preserved aromas, a purer coffee, free from off-tastes or unpleasant odors.
Designed for an average service life of 2 months, its lifetime may vary depending on your water hardness and how often the machine is used. This filter cartridge is compatible with several models in the SMEG range, including coffee machines ECF02, EGF03, EMC02, BCC11, BCC12 and BCC13.
How to install the SMEG filter cartridge?
Installing the ECWF02 cartridge is quick and easy for anyone. Just follow these few steps for optimal placement:
- Prepare the cartridge: start by unpacking it, then immerse it in a container of water or run it under the tap for about 30 seconds. This allows the cartridge to saturate with water and prevents air bubbles from forming in the machine’s circuits.
- Expel the air: lay the cartridge flat in the water tank to let any remaining air bubbles rise, ensuring good water flow once installed.
- Install the cartridge: insert it into the water reservoir at the designated slot in the bottom, and make sure it is securely fixed.
- Run a rinse cycle: to finalize installation, without coffee, to prime the filter well and clean the internal circuits.
