The origin cacao Monbana is made from beans selected for their taste and aromatic qualities. Dried, roasted, finely ground, the beans release the best of their flavor and aroma. The extra-fine powder obtained allows excellent use in pastry as well as in beverage preparation.
Directions for use:
Very powerful in aroma and flavor, the cocoa powder is normally used mixed with 2 to 3 times its weight in sugar in the preparation of breakfast drinks, snacks, desserts and entremets. You can also follow the traditional hot chocolate recipe that our experts detail step by step on our blog.
A bit of history:
The drink of the Aztec gods that conquered the kings of Europe
Around 980, Quetzalcoatl, the "feathered serpent" king, rules over the Toltecs. Legend has it that he stole a cacao bean from the gods and taught men to make a drink from it to console them for being on earth. In 1519, Cortès lands in Yucatan. King Moctezuma II, convinced that he is Quetzalcoatl himself, offers him a plantation of cacao trees. Trade in cacao with Europe begins. The Spanish court is the first to adopt "the drink of the gods" which quickly spreads throughout Europe. Even today, chocolate is endowed with divine virtues, and its authentic preparation is a true art that is part of ritual.
