Espresso Grinder New Accademia: Modern display and design
This bean-to-cup coffee machine offers a modern look enhanced by a red backlit touch. A modern façade combining black glass and stainless-steel accents. Its design will bring a touch of modernity to any kitchen. The espresso grinder is suited to household use thanks to the variety of drinks it makes and the capacity of its containers:
- Water tank: 1.6 litres
- Bean hopper: 350 g (a standard bag of coffee is 250 g)
- Puck container: 14 pucks
- Milk carafe: 0.6 litres
The bean hopper sits on top of the machine, with an opening featuring a shutter system. A sealing gasket keeps your coffee fresh. The cup warmer can be programmed for several time slots during the day and for specific days of the week. This option prevents thermal shock when the coffee flows into the cup.

The large 5-inch screen with 3D icons and backlit buttons delivers an exceptional user experience. Navigating the bean-to-cup machine is smooth, letting you use either the touchscreen or the dial. Extensive settings let you fine-tune every extraction to your exact preferences.
Once a drink is selected, the screen lets you adjust coffee pre-infusion andtemperature across 3 levelsandintensity across 5 levels. For milk drinks you can set the volume of coffee, milk and foam (4 levels). The espresso grinder also dispenses hot water with temperature settings suited to green tea (80 °C) and black tea (90 °C).
Backlit buttons give quick access to the main menu, various maintenance options, steam-wand cleaning and machine start-up.
An espresso grinder devoted to taste
With19 drinks available, the machine caters to every craving. You can prepare a multitude of beverages: ristretto, espresso, espresso lungo, coffee, americano, cappuccino, cappuccino XL, macchiatone, melange, café cortado, flat white, caffelatte, café au lait, latte macchiato, frothed milk, hot milk, hot water, water for black tea, water for green tea.
Drinks can be customised, renamed and assigned to one of 4 user profiles. While a drink is being dispensed you can adjust parameters in real time and then save them.
Milk drinks can be prepared One-Touch by connecting the carafe to the machine or by using the steam wand. This dual option lets you create latte art, an exclusive feature in the bean-to-cup world.
The ground-coffee chute is located centrally next to the bean hopper, letting you make a decaf or use any coffee you choose.
Maintenance of the Gaggia New Accademia espresso grinder
For the maintenance of the New Accademia bean-to-cup machine, several programs are available. Their frequency will depend on the beverage consumption.
- The filter cartridge: from the first use, it is recommended to use it to protect the machine from limescale. The filter cartridge also purifies the water so as not to alter the coffee aromas.
- The brewing unit: accessible behind the machine's front panel, its maintenance removes coffee oil residues. It is recommended to clean it every week.
- The descaling: the most important maintenance step, it affects the machine's lifespan. The machine must be set at startup according to the hardness of the water you use. It will then remind you of the descaling frequency, on average every 2 to 3 months.
- The milk carafe: After making One Touch milk drinks, the machine reminds you of the importance of maintenance to prevent bacterial growth.
- The steam wand: Its maintenance is simplified with a front-panel button. After milk frothing, wipe the wand with a microfiber cloth, place the wand in a heat-resistant container and press the "Purge" button. Maintenance takes just a few seconds.
By following all these steps, you will fully enjoy your machine and the flavors of each of your beverages.
