The 100% Arabica coffee from organic farming, present in these soft pods, is grown at high altitude (about 1500 m) in Bolivia .
This coffee will seduce you with its very fruity aroma and a slight touch of acidity due to the volcanic soil where it is grown. This mild and aromatic coffee will be ideal at the end of the day. These soft pods can be purchased in bulk formats at a lower cost.
Farming certified without pesticides or chemical fertilizers.
Decaffeination process
The decaffeination requires professional high-tech expertise. The unroasted coffee beans are made porous by a steam treatment.
Then to extract the caffeine, Destination chose not to use solvents, but water and CO2 , thanks to the only unit in Europe using this process. CO2, a component of the air we breathe, turns out to be a powerful solvent for caffeine. It is circulated under pressure through green coffee beans immersed in water.
When the desired residual caffeine level is reached, the circulation is stopped, the coffee is gently dried until it returns to its initial moisture level. Thus, the structure of the green and roasted beans, the flavor, the taste of the roasted coffee, and the coffee infusion are almost intact.
There is absolutely no health risk since the coffee is brought into contact with 100% pure substances: chemically inert carbon dioxide (and totally evaporated) and pure water.
