Why choose a distributor?
The distribution of coffee in a portafilter is one of the steps not to be neglected to achieve a perfect extraction. Your coffee puck in your filter must be flat and homogeneous so that water can infiltrate throughout the entire puck and extract all the aromas from your coffee. If your puck does not have homogeneous density, you risk encountering the phenomenon of " Channeling " (when water chooses an easy path through the puck and only extracts part of the aromas from your coffee puck).
