The Pylano Cali French press has one main advantage over its rivals: the coffee never touches plastic. The carafe is made of heat-resistant borosilicate glass. The frame and plunger are stainless steel. The double-filtration system retains 95% of grounds, resulting in coffee with great aromatic clarity. Only the handle is ABS plastic so you can avoid burns and serve your coffee easily.
French presses are the easiest coffee makers to use. Hot water (not boiling, ideally between 88 and 95°C) and coarsely ground coffee— that's all you need.
Why hot, non-boiling water? As the saying goes: "Boiled coffee is ruined coffee." Boiling water spoils the taste by acting as a poor aroma extractor. Just a few degrees difference, and it's a whole new world when brewing coffee.
Why coarse grind? To avoid coffee grounds at the bottom of your cup (usually caused by too fine a grind).
